On September 9, 1997, Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern opened for business and is now led by a team comprised of Owner / Manager Kim Reynolds, Executive Chef Daniel Schurr, and Manager / Special Events Coordinator Nicolle Roberts.
The structure retains its original exterior, heart pine flooring, masonry walls, doors, and windows. New leaded glass panels have been installed in the four original front doors. The four major rooms in the main body of the structure have been opened to accommodate restaurant traffic flow and to create a more friendly and unobstructed dining atmosphere. The original kitchen has been converted into a corporate dining room now called the Pine Room and a grand new entrance has been constructed in the area formerly used as a rear entrance. An elevator has been installed adjacent to a 3,000 square foot two-story kitchen, bakery, and food storage area. It is located at 330 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, North Carolina.

Saint Jacques French Cuisine represents the dream of Lil Lacassagne, a chef from the south of France who opened his own restaurant in the United States. Deciding to become the owner of his own restaurant marks the natural progression of Lil’s career in the world of food. In fact, he decided to establish his business in Raleigh both to follow his cherished wife, Lori, to the United States and to create his new establishment in a comfortable, warm environment. It is located at 6112 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, North Carolina.
For Lil, Saint Jacques has two central goals: to prove to the world the value of superior service and to offer an authentic French experience. Lil notes that in France, there is typically a different approach to the restaurant business than in the United States. This approach focuses first on the quality of both the service and the overall experience, not just profitability. Thus, Lil tries to demonstrate to his clients this attention to quality through a focus on the small details that make dinner truly special. Above all, Lil always works to create an atmosphere that reveals his passion for his craft and his humility as a celebrated chef of French cuisine. In sum, diners should venture to Saint Jacques to understand the value of this incredible experience. They have over three hundred reviews on google giving them four-point-eight star reviews.
Jolie Restaurant. A few weeks ago it was super cold and was craving something warm so perched up at the bar and ordered Savoy style fondue, cassoulet, and hot chocolate — and didn’t have to share any of it. I left feeling super content and warm inside. It’s such a special place, the food, and the people.” – Jenn Rice, Eater Charleston contributor. It is located at 620 N Person St, Raleigh, North Carolina.
Review: The French bistro spirit at Jolie shows why Scott Crawford is a culinary star. I’m happy to report that, from every angle, Jolie is as charming as its name — which, in addition to being French for “pretty,” was chosen in honor of the chef’s young daughter, Jolie. Rating: 4 1/2 stars. They have over ninety reviews on google giving them four-point-seven star reviews.
